  • Fun with Fixed Point:

    Intro to Mime and Articulation

    Oct 23rd, 10am - 1pm

    Lead teacher: Kimberley Twiner

Mime is not this exclusive, kooky form of theatre. In it's essence it is a choreography of intentional stillness and movement. The principles of fixed point (which means articulated stillness) allow us to create the sweetest, scariest, fantastical imagined worlds that deliver clear storytelling to the audience. When we priviledge the body over words we activate a universal human capacity of comprehension. So come and step into the world of fixed point and mime, it just might become your new obsession. This work is delivered through the Lecoq methodology of mask, mime and movement theatre.

This is a community workshop, therefore it is pay-as-you-can, which is possible because Merri-Bek Council has opened up its venues as FREE USE FOR ARTISTS. To offer financially accessible workshops is super important to me and, I think, vital to the community. Even though the workshop is pay-as-you-can I ask that you communicate with timely proffesionalism if you need to withdraw.
